In celebration of Father’s Day, 50 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) incarcerated in the Maximum Security Camp of New Bilibid Prison (NBP) were visited by female PDLs from the Correctional Institution of Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City on June 12, 2024.
The visit aimed to reconnect the female PDLs with their husbands and fathers and provide moral support for the PDLs during the Father’s Day holiday. The gathering marked a special moment for the families, allowing them to share heartfelt conversations and laughter amidst their challenging circumstances
The Commander of the Guards, C/SINSP HENRY A AVILA along with NBP and CIW personnel, facilitated the visit. This initiative will remind the PDLs that they are not forgotten and that there are people who care about their well-being. It is important to provide opportunities for PDLs to connect with their families, as it plays a crucial role in their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
