Tagaytay City – The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), under the leadership of DIRECTOR GENERAL GREGORIO PIO P CATAPANG, JR, AFP (Ret), CESE, CCLH, convened today, October 3, 2024, for its annual Management Review Conference at the Development Academy of the Philippines. The conference brought together key BuCor officials and personnel to assess and enhance the agency’s operational effectiveness.
The conference focused on reviewing critical areas, including the Status of the Previous Management Review, updates on the Performance and Effectiveness of the Quality Management System, and a comparative assessment of the Monitoring and Measurement Results. This comparative evaluation focused on the operational performance of Operating Prisons and Penal Farms (OPPFs), emphasizing performance accomplishments for the fiscal year 2023.
A key highlight of the event was the recognition of the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF), which was awarded the Best OPPF based on its Office Performance Commitment and Review (OPCR) Accomplishment for FY 2023. This award reflects DPPF’s commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
The conference also addressed strategic actions to mitigate risks and seize opportunities, ensuring BuCor remains proactive in maintaining its mandate for the country’s correctional system.
