On January 11, 2025, the highly anticipated basketball tournament of the Department of Justice (DOJ) Inter-Agency Secretary’s Cup 2025, organized by Sinag Liga Asya (SLA) headed by Rocky A. Chan, SLA Chairman, officially kicked off with a grand opening ceremony at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City. This year’s event celebrates athleticism, camaraderie, and the spirit of unity among the agencies under the DOJ.
The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Basketball Team is managed by the diligent C/SUPT LUCIO GUEVARRA as Head Coach, C/CINSP ANTHONY NUPABLE G OMEGA as Head Committee and Team Manager and CTSO3 Christian Cruz as Team Captain. Together, they aim to lead the team to victory while exemplifying teamwork and dedication on and off the court.
The SLA encouraged unity, collaboration, and friendly competition among DOJ agencies. During the opening ceremony, DOJ Spokesperson, ASEC MICO CLAVANO, delivered an inspiring speech that energized the audience and set the tone for the games. Coaches, players and supporters proudly showed their team spirit.
