Reception Rites of COCBC Class 2024-01 “KASARIGAN”

The Corrections National Training Institute (CNTI) formally welcomed the 42 new members of the Corrections Officer Custodial Basic Course (COCBC) Class 2024-01 “KASARIGAN” during their Reception Rites held on April 27, 2024, at the CNTI Parade Ground.
CMDR DALMACIO L CARINGAL PCGA, Director for Directorate for Personnel Education and Training Services, C/CINSP LUCIO C GUEVARRA, Acting Director of CNTI, C/INSP ALLAN A ROSALES, Deputy Director of CNTI and Commandant of the Applied Training Division and other BuCor Key Officials and personnel attended the Reception Rites.
During the event, the trainees underwent exercises to test and gauge their physical strength before the formal start of the training. These rites signify a customary greeting for incoming personnel. They hold great symbolic value as they represent a transition from one’s civilian antics and lifestyle to adopting a rigid and well-disciplined role as a public servant.
In his message, CMDR DALMACIO L CARINGAL PCGA underscored the significance of the training program in developing competent and dedicated corrections officers. He emphasized the importance of discipline, integrity, and service in the field of corrections.
The COCBC Class 2024-01 “KASARIGAN” is composed of individuals from diverse backgrounds, they will undergo a six-month training program that covers various aspects of corrections. Upon completion of the training program, the new corrections officers will be deployed to various BuCor facilities nationwide, where they will play a vital role in maintaining order and security, promoting PDL rehabilitation, and ensuring the protection of both PDLs and personnel.
