CNTI Welcomes 130 New COBRC Trainees with Formal Opening Ceremony and Reception Rites
The Corrections National Training Institute (CNTI) officially opened the training cycle for 130 new Custodial Officer Basic Recruit Course (COBRC) trainees through an Opening Ceremony and Reception Rites held at the CNTI Parade Ground on 27 May 2025.
The Reception Rites featured six (6) rigorous stations designed to test the trainees’ physical endurance, mental resilience, and discipline. These stations were supervised by Tactical Non-Commissioned Officers from the Applied Training Division (ATD), Tactical Nurses, and members of the preceding class, DASIG-TIKAS.
The program was marked by the esteemed presence of C/SUPT ALFREDO A DEVARAS JR., who graced the event as the Guest of Honor and Speaker (GOHAS). His address emphasized the importance of discipline, integrity, and dedication to the service.
The ceremonial opening was officially declared by C/SUPT LUCIO C GUEVARRA, Acting Director of CNTI, signaling the formal start of training for Class 2024-03. The invocation was solemnly led by Father Jess Los Bañez, invoking guidance and strength for the trainees as they embark on their transformative journey.
Key roles during the program were performed by C/SINSP ALLAN A ROSALES, Deputy Director of CNTI and Commandant of ATD, who presented the trainees and introduced the Reception Party, and CSO3 Quirico A Aligaga, Deputy Commandant, who delivered the heartfelt Welcome Remarks. The event was also attended by CNTI’s dedicated Non-Commissioned Officers and Non-Uniformed Personnel.
The successful conduct of the Reception Rites not only marks the beginning of a challenging yet rewarding journey for the recruits but also reaffirms CNTI’s mission to develop disciplined and service-oriented personnel ready to serve within the Bureau of Corrections.
